Developed with the CommiSur Lab, this innovative platform aims to enhance simulation training by offering an immersive training experience for trauma teams. The recent CBC’s The National features highlights the impact of PetitVR in advancing pediatric trauma care. PetitVR was developed by Drs. Fabio Botelho, completing his PhD studies in Experimental Surgery at McGill University, his supervisor Dr. Dan Poenaru, pediatric surgeon, senior scientist at MUHC, and lead of the CommiSur Lab, in collaboration with PetitVR Inc’s co-founder and CommiSur’s Research Director, Elena Guadagno and UK’s i3 Simulations. PetitVR was also featured in Canadian Healthcare Technology.

Sacha Williams, a PhD student with the CommiSur Lab, was invited to be a Panel Member for Black History month at the RI-MUHC: Let’s Learn Celebrate and Connect!
Three PhD students from our lab had their letter to the editor published in the Montreal Gazette on 25th January. Riya Sawhney, Ayla Grek and Shreenik Kundu wrote about the unfair penalizing of small businesses for their carbon emissions in response to an article about smoke from wood-fired ovens in pizza/bagel shops in Montreal.
