Drs. Fabio Botelho and Shreenik Kundu, both completing their PhD studies in Experimental Surgery in the CommiSur Lab under Dr. Dan Poenaru’s supervision, have developed partnerships with the WHO and the Global Surgery Foundation / UN Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) to create virtual reality trauma courses. The locally developed VR platform (PetitVR) in collaboration with UK-based i3 Simulations, aims to democratize trauma education globally through innovative, multi-player team-based trauma simulation.
