Aylin Erman’s abstract entitled “Machine-learning-assisted Preoperative Prediction of Pediatric Appendicitis Severity,” has been selected as the Second-Place Winner of the MUHC’s Hugh Hallward Award for Publication Communication. Beardmore-CommiSur Lab co-authors include Dan Poenaru, Sherif Emil and Elena Guadagno.

Today is World Pediatric Surgery Day. Being a children's surgeon has been a blessing of a lifetime. There is so much I cherish about what we do. But what I cherish most is the trust we build with our patients and families. That is the foundation upon which all else is built.
