The Beardmore-CommiSur Lab’s Dr. Dan Poenaru with PhD student Dr. Dunya Moghul and Dr. Katya Loban received the CIHR Priority Announcement grant in Global Health Research for their project entitled “Exploring and addressing gender disparities in access to surgical care for children in India and Pakistan.”

Today is World Pediatric Surgery Day. Being a children's surgeon has been a blessing of a lifetime. There is so much I cherish about what we do. But what I cherish most is the trust we build with our patients and families. That is the foundation upon which all else is built.
